Course Title: Carpentry & Roofing

Carpentry is a skilled trade in which the primary work performed is the cutting, shaping and installation of building materials during the construction of buildings, ships, timber bridges, concrete formwork, etc. Carpenters traditionally worked with natural wood and do the rougher work such as framing, but today many other materials are also used and sometimes the finer trades of cabinet making and furniture building are considered carpentry. TRADE TEST QUALIFICATION – On the completion of this qualification, a successful candidate can obtain a trade test qualification in industry.


Career Opportunities:

Carpenters construct and repair building frameworks and structures—such as stairways, doorframes, partitions, and rafters—made from wood and other materials. They also may install kitchen cabinets, siding, and drywall.

Admission Requirements:

N1 Level: Passed Grade 9 & 10 

N2 Level: Passed Grade 10 & 11 

N3 level:

1) National Certificate (Matric) or its equivalent qualification with a pass in the following subjects:
English language level 3 (40% above) Pure Mathematics level 3 (40% above) Physical Science level 3 (40% above) 

2) Have passed N2
